Attached is a graphic showing a garage door lintel. The angle size, bearing length on the brick, bolt spacing (if needed) and beam size are all by design.

Thanks again Randy. How far should that lintel (and the beam) extend beyond the edge of the opening or beyond the vertical framing? Is that what the “4” min" note means?

The lintel goes at least 4” past the door. Depends on how high the brick is above the lintel, same for the beam.
