You may want to visit www.dasma.com and see their technical data sheets #151 and #167 for information on inspecting the garage doors and operators. Good info.

Does anyone actually check an overhead door, with an automatic opener, in the manual mode?
I suppose if it opened really hard automatically it may be something to consider but, on second thought, I would probably just recommend evaluation/repair by a qualified person.
Anyone else?

Hi to all,
I personally release the door from its opener and operate it manualy at first, if it is well balanced and smooth running I then reconnect the opener and test the automatic functions.

A couple of things to look for in the photo-eyes being within 6" of the floor. I’ve seen many of them over a foot above the floor. And the wall button should be 5’ above the floor to keep kids from playing with it. This is in the DASMA recommendations as well as most of the opener manufacturers.
