I did an inspection yesterday and when checking outlets in the rooms with a AFCI breaker with my GFCI tester the breaker tripped as soon as I inserted the tester. The test button was not pressed at anytime.
I have not had any issue like this in the past. Has anyone come across this same situation?

If the trip button worked at the breaker then no problem.

Thank you, I figured that as well but, am curious as to why this occurred. Could it be a compatibility issue between the tester and the AFCI breaker?

Most likely!
