I usually just see the plumbing laying across the bottom of the trusses in this situation.
Agreed, but contractors are too lazy anymore to do things the “better way”. It’s a shame really.

Interesting, don’t hardly see any SPF in this area, it’s almost always SYP.
I only see SPF occasionally in new townhomes and only in webs. It has always been SYP for trusses since ages ago when trusses were first manufacturered. Apparently, we’re running out of wood, the wood quality has dropped significantly, and/or the standards have dropped significantly that the truss plants are using what ever garbage they can get their hands on.
I remembered this topic during my 11-month warranty inspection today. I’m seeing this more and more frequently. Quality control must be out the window at this truss plant. Multiple homes in this neighborhood like this with misaligned plates or have a bazillion joint repairs done already. How this truss plant is still in business is mind boggling.
