To answer your question, in order to demonstrate how much area GutterStuff takes away from the gutter, you can squeeze the product in your hand very tightly and the compare how much actual material is in the gutter. I have done this and it looks to me like it would take up about 6% of the actual gutter volume.
In a very heavy rain, GutterStuff will work well. It is important for the homeowner to check the product once in awhile to make sure there isn’t any stubborn debris that remains on the product. If there is they can simply take a water hose and wash off the top of the product.
Homeowners can also concern themselves with the sizing and pitch of their gutters. Gutters will be most effective if they are sized and sloped properly. SMACCA has an excellent guide showing proper specifications on gutters.
I am working on placing GutterStuff in Canada. I hope to have it there soon. Please ask your store in Canada to contact me and we can work together to move the product into Canada. They can call me at the toll free number 866-766-3442.
You may be able to order from one of the catalog companies. Either abccatalog.com or bigrocksupply.com Ace hardware and Do it Best also have an online ordering system and we are posted there too.
The video shows the 5" K style gutter and the GutterStuff product that is shaped to fit that specific gutter. I would like everyone to know that GutterStuff is also manufactured to fit half round gutters, fascia gutters and all of the sizes, like 4", 5", 6" and 7" gutters for all of the styles. The 5" K style gutter is by far the most common on homes and multifamily units.
I don’t think we have submitted GutterStuff to Askthebuilder. I would like to get his thoughts. One consideration I believe unique is that GutterStuff is a do-it-yourself foam filter insert for uyour gutters. It certainly is less expensive than other gutter protection systems that are perceived to be effective.
GutterStuff is invisible from the ground too. No need to match paints and colors.
I have been selling a product similar to this for the last 4yrs. The item I sell and install work great. I have it on my home and we just had a 3” rain in 4hrs with no problems.
We haven’t made our pitch to Home Depot. I imagine they have there eye on us though and it’s possible that we could here from them before we make contact with them. This has been happening more often lately as the retailers are getting the good word from their competitors. All of the positive talk around out there has really been good for us.
The pine needles are going to pile up on top of the product and there is a good chance they will stay there. I just spoke to a customer today in South Carolina that said he used to clean his gutters 4 times a year to remove the needles from his gutters. He installed GutterStuff last year and he hasn’t had to clean them now since then. He does have a pile of needles on top of the gutters but the water is still filtering through the needles and the GutterStuff and it’s running down the downspout. I asked him to take a water hose and spray the needles off once in awhile and he thought that was a good idea and that it was a lot easier than cleaning the needles out from inside the gutters. The water pressure usually is strong enough to dislodge those needles that are stuck in the pours also.
