Has anyone ever seen this?

I always find it interesting to see building materials and techniques from the past. In 100 years people will be asking members here if they have ever encountered the products used in the construction of today’s homes.

Clay was widely use even for roofing tiles, chimney liners wall interior and exterior envelopes and stuccoed and I personally never seen them used for foundations in my neck of the woods.

Some of the older homes it was used for support walls and garages. I have only done a few inspections with this type of clay tile and non of it was cracked on the interior. The garage was a different story as it was exposed to moisture. Still are some commercial buildings standing with this instead of brick veneer.
