I ran across this block/brick today and wondered if one of you guys might know what type or name it goes by?

Any help would be appreciated.

Appears to be a clay tile block. I have encountered these mostly in older commercial buildings.

Thanks guys. I tend to believe these are the the clay structural block as seen in the site that Marcel posted. Below is an interior pic. Just have not run into this in the past.

Again, Thanks. ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

Believe it or not, the crawl was rather dry. No significant signs of a wet crawl but the exterior drainage was good.

Steve;

What in God's name is that pipe in the picture?

It looks like a pipe wrapped up in stove pipe, rusted, and may have asbestos content. The elbow above it looks like it was wrapped in the same material that bag ties come in, that are used to tie reinforcement bars.

steven. of course it leaks, or at least leaked. how els does metal get concentrated rust like that just below an access in a block wall. did you note the areas last rain fall? if not maybe it only leaks in the rain. be carefull when inspecting areas like these and “conferm” it’s dry without noting the areas last rain fall. but hay good find none the less. icon_cool.gif
