Home run wiring

Not true! You may think you know the answers but many have proven they don’t.
Jim does not fit into that category.

These sound like contradictory statements.

Even without holding the position as an electrician an HI certainly should be able to call out something so simple as unsecured cables, especially someone with the title of CMI. I had read that the HI may not have the same specific knowledge as a tradesperson but at least had the required general knowledge to be able to provide an informed opinion regarding the potential issues in a home.

Also I would think that sending work to a contractor would be a conflict of interest. What would stop an HI from finding “issues” just so their buddy can make a profit?

If you are waiting for wood to make sense or back up what he says, it’s gong to be a long wait.

Thank You.

I wasn’t really scrutinizing the image.

In fact, I was just starting trouble by asking Kevin what was wrong as I knew he wouldn’t answer.

And Jim I did know this already, as for the problems I see with HI’s getting the wrong info it continues each day.
Carry on!
As for sending it to a Master the answer is Yes.

Thanks for doing your part.

You keep doing your part Michael. You have become the master of something but I am not sure how to define it.

Here is the difference woodhead.

When I have made errors I admit it and move on.

You stand and defend your own stupidity no matter how wrong you are.

You have had this explained to you numerous times by many of us.

In Ontario, they are referred to licensed electrical contractor and not Master Electrician, just saying.

Juan,
Robert Meier stated the easiest way to identify was with a circuit tracer. Some tape on each receptacle helps, and then there is a visual of where the individual circuit is running in the home. As previously stated, usually the closest is first, and you can surmise the general direction of travel.
I carry one, once in a while it comes in handy. Another cool toy that impresses clients, because it beeps and has flashing lights

Marcel a Master is more than just a licensed. I see plenty of wrong wiring daily so that is why I continue to call on a Master Electrician who is also a licensed contractor. Yes one phone call and I have a reponse in less than 1 hr.

someone get kevin another shovel.

Kevin, why are you even involved in hiring someone? I thought an HI was to report and document. Since you say you do not have the knowledge how can you hire someone? Also your time frame does not give anyone the time to negotiate whether the item will be fixed or a price concession made.

Isn’t hiring someone a potential conflict of interest?

I don’t hire anyone. My Client calls one of the 3 Masters in town.

Kev. Someone needs your help over here.

Its OK Christopher no one could answer it anyways. If those pipes are for a buried tank it would be on my report. Unknown!!!

I thought you might be able to see it on your Mega phone.

Mega Samsung!

What do you use it for on your inspections?

Confused.

Now it sounds like you are directing clients which still sounds like a potential conflict of interest.
