What’s your secret? Lol
I already posted it above. Obviously, you don’t ‘get it’!
Martin said otherwise. I’m wondering how he does it considering it’s outside the norm.
Nope I had to learn it myself. I believe it was George Harrison who said “you got to pay the dues if you want to sing the blues you know it don’t come easy”. Good luck Grub.
How do you think he does it?
Maybe mostly clent referrals. I don’t know lol.
Perfect! Now how do you get client referrals?
This is a serious question that your business will succeed or fail upon the answer. No pressure.
I have put the cart before the horse. I need to get my CPI before I start with the questions. Sorry guys.
That’s the smartest thing you’ve said so far Jacob. My advice to you would be to give the message board a rest for a while. This career takes time. Get your CPI. Form your business. Get some inspections under your belt.
If you don’t have construction experience make sure you have good insurance, it’s worth every penny.
Build a name that gets referrals. Make your client know they need you. This is something you’re going to have to earn.
Thanks Martin
Jacob set a goal in your minds eye. CPI would be it for me. Reach it and set another goal such as a LLC or sole proprietor.
Now set a course for acquiring clients. Real estate agents are dogs and not my thing. Finish the work I mentioned above and I’ll tell you how to circumvent agents for work.
Every inspector will have a different method or story for their success. The market you are in is a driving factor. What has been successful for me may not work in another market. I’m at the point I could take on another employee. I like being a solo worker so that’s not an option.
I will work for beer and views
Any time Brian! Often I’ll polish the report under an umbrella on the sand with a cold beer.
You have redefined working vacation.
Views Of??? Bouncing beach boobies maybe??
@jbrown154 word of mouth is huge in any industry. As @mwilles said, get trained, set goals, and develop a real game plan. No realtor will refer a newb that has no idea what they’re doing… Just saying…
Good luck.
Well, let me put it to you this way…I have seen enough waves in my life. But there are some things you just can’t get too much of.
Agreed.
What kind of inspection are you doing? Can’t be standard residential with 10-day contingency periods.
