HVAC Inspection training

I am about to start the HVAC Course. Any tips for a HVAC novice? A bit uncomfortable about this one.

Not trying to be smug Adam, but understand the abbreviation of “HVAC”. Concentrate on each segment that applies to the abbreviation and how they all tie in together. It will make sense while keeping you on track with learning the system. Also, keep in mind that in most jurisdictions, one to two are required, one is not in most situations.

Good luck!

Same boat!
I’m a novice to most of this, really looking forward to the field training.

From an electrical perspective two things to learn are the MCA (minimum circuit ampacity) and the MaxOCPD (maximum overcurrent protection device) and how they apply to the overcurrent protection size and the conductor size. These rules are different from the typical sizing of branch circuits and can be confusing.

Thank you all for your input! I just wrapped up this course and taking into consideration everything you have all shared it made understanding this course much easier.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are many qualified people here who can help to answer your questions.,
