Illinois recorded an 8th consecutive month of year-over-year increases in home sales according to data released today by the Illinois Association of REALTORs. Statewide home sales in February totaled 6,487, up from 5,634 in February last year. The median price was $117K, down from $127.5K last year. This is the best February, in terms of home sold, since 2008.
Business is good. So is the weather.

With early warm one wonders if the usual spring hump will be slower as everyone is shopping earlier this year.

I’m surprised at the median sales price. $117K. Wow, there must be some great deals in IL. Homes are selling for about the cost of material.
I’ve inspected some newer homes that sold in the $200k-$300k range that were originally purchased for twice that just a few years ago. Some of them still have outrageous taxes though.
Yeah getting a lot at 50% off from 5 years ago.
