On May 6, 2021 Kidde voluntarily announced a recall to replace Kidde TruSense Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms. Roughly 250,000. These attempted to reduce false alarms by correlating the CO and smoke detectors together, similar to the technique used by USI.
My personal problem with Kidde alarms is not this, but the “10 year” battery models that die after 4-5 years.
