My guess as well. They just ran each individual conductor inside of the loom instead of using knobs to support it.

I see that often in one area here in NE Ohio. Typically the homes are built in the early 1950’s.

Thanks for the info ya’ll. Its likely some form of KB but difficult to say at this time. Regardless for those googling or looking this up in the future. Its a great example of loom, potentially knob and tub, old house updates electrical, and more i’m sure.
