Hey folks,
I was hoping to get some thoughts and any inside knowledge on lead in drinking water.
The Federal MCL is .015 mg/L. I periodically use Simple Lab and it seems they are always flagging any result that has any trace of lead. They, and other sources online, including the EPA, claim any amount of lead is not acceptable. So I am confused. What do other folks use as a baseline for reporting acceptability with lead in the drinking water?
Thanks
Who is “The Federal”?
EPA is the federal I am referring to. In both the MCL of .015 mg/l and also the zero which they call the MCLG (maximum containment level goal)
This is the “data sheet” provided my the local lab. Outlining all MCL’s for the test. Note the .015 mg/l.
I don’t do water testing, but the County I’m in will do free water sample test. They will give the report and one can go from there.
