Looking for Stucco Inspection Guidance in Arizona

Dear Mr. Gromicko,

I enjoy your YouTube videos and respect your knowledge of stucco construction. Our company is looking to hire a qualified stucco expect to help educate our company.

I’m the technical director for a paint manufacturer. We have questions and challenges when coating stucco homes in the southwest markets such as Phoenix and Tucson. Most jobs go well, but a certain percentage have failure that I never see in Florida.

In addition to coating chemistry, I’m a certified coating inspector. However, some parts of the country (and other countries) have unique building envelopes. Like you, I take a holistic approach to my inspections. Therefore, I try to network with local expertise to understand regional construction practices, pass along that knowledge, and communicate best practices to the field.

Can you recommend a qualified NACHI stucco inspector in the Phoenix area? Our company would like to hire someone for an entire day (maybe more). My hope is he could provide some basic classroom type information. More importantly I’d like to take him or her into the field and show them various examples of our challenges and problem jobs. The goal is to get smarter.

For example, I see moisture issue patterns in Arizona and southern California that I never see in Florida. This is despite the fact Florida has a lot more precipitation and humidity.

Hopefully, you have qualified colleagues that would be interested in consulting work. It could be a one-time effort or an ongoing consulting relationship.

Kind Regards,

Michael D. Moore
