May We Did 15,075

I know there are some one man operations like me on the MB that are doing more like 25K a month.

Billy, Juan and Thomas that is a amazing. Congratulations to you guys.

Juan, I just put in Richmond Home Inspectors and yup you came out on top.
Tried Chesterfield and your competitor Burgess came out 1 and you were 2.
Excellent.

Yes I do know that but look at who I was talking about (Juan).

And that is why I also said Billy needs to quit bragging.

lol 15k is impressive when you don’t have to rely on realtors on realtors for referrals ;). The business actually brought in orders of 19K but I don’t count those because I don’t get that money such as sewer laterals and termites. I call subs for those. Also I could do it myself as well like Thomas but trust me when I say I don’t work nearly as hard as you guys working alone. Juan that is awesome. Glad to see your doing so well. Thomas that is great as well but hire someone and your days will get shorter. The reason for this post is not to brag the reason for this post is to wake some of you up and realize that realtors is only one piece of the pie that way to many of you solely focus on. I have not focused on marketing to realtors but plan to do so one day. Juan is a great example of focusing on both realtors, word of mouth, and internet placement and marking. I will soon catch up and yes I do have a great accountant.

Billy, there are some weeks when it is a bit of a slog when all the inspections are coming in at once and I try to do all I can to accomodate. Luckily thats not every week!
This week has been a breeze with Monday off and I had most of Thursday off as well. Nice to have some free time. With all that my take for the week will be just over 4k.

Today for instance I did one this morning already for 450.
Then at 3pm today another with radon for 575.00 so theres my K for the Day.
Drive time is usually not much of an issue, first job was 8 mins away and the second less then twenty.

Not exactly busting my butt this week.

Should I get a vanity plate that says, K A Day ?

Way back when I was single, I was doing piece work for insurance companies as a contractor and once I hit 1k a week, I stopped working. Usually worked 3 days. Then I got married.

I did $26k in May and 74 inspections. One man show

You’re doing about 18 a week, tires me out thinking about it!

Billy, are you an anti realtor guy, just wondering why you don’t market to them?

I have a loyal group who send me work and I’m never shy about encouraging new ones to try me.

But I also get a good chunk of work from the website and referrals from former clients as well.

If you have that kind of volume, why not adjust pricing and slow down there a bit. Price /demand thing

Hi Sheehan, you have one of the best website I’ve seen so far for inspectors. Congrats on your success, you deserve it.

David

I was agreeing with you.

Very nice. You finished with reports onsite?

Very Nice, Sheehan! That, and more, is possible via a one man show…regularly. Sure, it take hard work. But, many were raised on hard work, by themselves. It gets many to be able to cut way back and/or retire sooner. Especially, if one started when young. Great job!

Some of you guys are killin’ it. Awesome!

I tried for a bit but I suck at it plus after doing what we already do I’m to tired so now my daughter has joined the team and that will be her job so I may get somewhere with it but we shall see. Here in St. Louis many work from their home very little work from an actual office so catching them is tricky. You guys pulling in 5k a week or more as a one man show my hat is off to you however you will put yourself in the grave quicker than you realize. 74 inspections 18 a week equals no life as a one man show in my opinion or your not saying much in your reports. In my opinion inspecting as a team 18 houses a week still equals no life. I would break off like Juan in teams of 2. Just my view on it.

I’ll give you free advice Billy

To be honest I don’t have the time to do what you do no way I can cover my jobs and market to realtors without help. You have to admit your wife is a huge part of your backbone or was at one point. Remember I know who you are ;). You have worked hard to market towards them I agree.

So apparently that mass email/flier “We’ll Buy Back Your Home” campaign you promoted several months ago to 1,000’s of agents didn’t fly to well in the St.Louis market.
