Mold Inspection Prices?

FYI:
According to the IICRC S520 (Standard and Reference Guide of Professional Mold Remediation) when a preliminary determination indicates that mold contamination exists or is likely to exist, an assessment should be performed by an independent Indoor Environmental Professional. A remediator than writes the scope of work after the IEP writes the remediation protocol.
Basically, a certified remediator is not trained to perform an assessment let alone an inspection. You need proper training via classes and an apprentice under a mold expert. Too much liability for the average home inspector. Also unless you are properly trained for clearance testing stay away from it because if you clear a job and do not know what you are doing, you will have lawyer’s sending you love letters when their client gets sick. No LLC will protect you.

“Sampling for mold should be conducted by professionals who have specific experience in designing mold sampling protocols, sampling methods, **and interpreting the results.”**EPA

This post is great, most will not like/accept the facts. Just because many “pretend” to do it right - don’t make it so.
If you don’t qualify for the insurance, perhaps you shouldn’t be doing the job.

Professional Liability is E&O that covers Chinese Drywall assessments and Preliminary mold inspections / testing.

Microbial Consulting Coverage is the E&O that covers MOLD Post-remediation inspection/testing (Clearance).
