This is a furnace exhaust. Originally installed this way by a “professional.”

Was it the furnace “professional” or the insulation “professional” who made the absolutely disastrous, oh my gosh, the house will burn down tomorrow you’d better move out today error? icon_lol.gif

I’ve seen our local wonderboy insulation contractors wrap everything in attics including the DWV stacks, range hood ducts and even some trusses. Guess it’s all cost effective. icon_lol.gif

Can’t see very far down. Was there a firestop installed for the vent pipe?

The furnace was about two feet below that strap. The unit was located in the attic.
