I copied this from another thread. Thought that I would ask it here.
I just completed my 16 hrs of continuing education with CELI TX/A&M/Commerce. The way that they did the online proctering was before I was able to do the test, I had to fill out a form that asked different questions that only I would know the answers to. Questions like my mothers maiden name, my birthdate, where I was born and so on. The questions would pop-up during the online exam and I had 45 seconds to answer them correctly.
Can NACHI do something like this?

Not a bad idea Brian. I personally feel that NACHI needs to implement the new entrance exam if it wants more respect. We all know the current exam is a joke. And like Brian said, it should be taken at a testing center. Gerry worked hard on this. What happened?

It amazes me that when Inspectors speak of the Home Inspection industry, many will characterize the industry as being something less than professional and even unethical.
I believe that speaks volumes about those that make these types of suggestions.
Ethics and Professionalism begins with the individual.

Joe,
I’m not sure if your post is referring to me? . I just feel that a good solid entrance exam will take NACHI to another level. We need to earn the title of certified inspector.

WARNING!
Please do not turn this thread into a test-bash. I'm on my best behavior . My point is simply that we use a powerful credential when using 'Certified Home Inspector'. It should not be so easily achieved.

My comments were not directed at you or anyone else.
I am in agreement with you that the CMI designation should have value attached to it. The Education Committee is working on the requirements and testing aspects of the CMI level.

This is one of the issues in PA. We do have members who do not have 100 inspection and they are not separated visibly to the public in the NACHI domain.
