By the way if your doing new construction inspections this is a handy reference to be familiar with:
Residential Construction Performance Guidelines
I include a link in the report. Just a guideline, but it provides the client with some reasonable expectations.

Bob, I would not recommend this for New Construction unless it don’t bother you that the Foundation is out of square 1 inch in 12’, Floor is out of level 1/2" in 20’, concrete column is out of plumb 1" in 8’ and no correction is needed for ice buildup at the eaves.
Just saying.

Just saying.
It doesn’t bother me at all. all of the tolerances you list are 1% or less and You won’t be measuring them during a home inspection.
I repeat, These are guidelines that help the client with realistic expectations.

It is kind of embarrassing that those are some of the standards that the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) uses. :shock:

Yes it is Larry, for in my career of building, none of those would have been found acceptable in my area and considered defects for new construction.
