Another reason new homes need inspections.


6 year old home. Poor to non-exeistant air-flow at many registers. While the vacant home was a cool 65 the crawl was a very toasty 80+.

To make full use of this heating system, it's necessary to drop the underfloor insulation. The moisture from the dryer should accomplish that.



There was no duct laying around to connect the dryer elbow to the exterior vent so I assume it had been like this since new. As for the heating ductwork...just plain old poor workmanship. Both the bath vents in the attic were also disconnected.

I wonder what the heating bills were like?
