New to Colorado looking for hands on experience

Hey everyone,
I just moved to Colorado and received my certification from ICA. I joined InterNACHI to get my CPI. I don’t have any hands on experience and don’t know anyone in the area. I reached out to “mentors” and they either didn’t get back to me or are not doing ride-alongs because of covid. The house of horrors is also closed due to covid. I applied to a couple of positions for inspectors and also never heard back. I am starting to get discouraged. I am just looking for some advice. Thanks

Don’t give up!

Follow up with those openings over and over again until they ask you to stop calling.

As for ride alongs, I think you might be outta luck for awhile. The general consensus on ride alongs is to contact inspectors way beyond where you’ll be working so they don’t feel like they’re training their competition.

You spelled it wrong. It’s Califrado now. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: It’s a tough time for starting up right now and the market is stupid. Tons of buyers very little sellers. There’s a lot of competition also. Established inspectors are steady. Keep looking for someone who will let you shadow and take full advantage of the InterNACHI CE courses. Study study study…

Kevin, contact some CMIs or CPIs within 40 to 50 miles, or closer, to your area and communicate with them. Maybe one, or more, will help you. Some inspectors feel as though they are training their competition by ride-alongs or mentoring or hiring.
