Next Long Island Chapter Meeting

Everyone is invited to the next meeting of the Long Island Chapter of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), Thursday, September 16th at 6pm. The meeting is open to all. This dinner meeting is $35/person, including the presentation.

Guest Speaker: Rob O'Connor - Rob is a member of NACHI and is a Licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience with construction, inspection, evaluation, and design of residential and commercial buildings. He works as the Chief Building Inspector for a local municipality, and is the owner of Eagle Engineering which specializes in structural evaluations and designs for residential buildings. He is also an adjunct professor at LIU for the Home Inspection and Construction Management program, and sits on the NACHI Education Committee.

Topic: Rob will give an informal talk on visual inspection procedures and liability issues related to performing the structural portion of a residential property inspection. Some topics covered will include foundation cracking, typical wood framing problems, engineered lumber, roof framing, truss construction, and hurricane resistance followed by an informal question and answer session.

A good dinner, drinks and deserts.
