(I’m posting this as opposed to sending an email as it may help others)…
Nick…
I am reviewing all my office Documents and Agreements, and am wondering if InterNachi has an updated Radon Testing Agreement? The only one I can find other than the “Waiver” is:
It is 3 pages long and is from 2007 (which is the one I currently use). Since you have created a “simple English” Home Inspection Agreement which is only one page long, is it possible to do the same for Radon?
I found this thread while looking for an InterNACHI radon agreement using a CRM testing. Gee, this is 9 years old, and all I can find is an agreement for short-term charcoal collection device. Why in the world can’t we get a radon agreement using CRM. I also agree with Jeffery that if we can have a simple one page home inspection agreement, why can’t we have a simple one page radon testing agreement?
The updated agreement is shorter.
It also works with all types of radon testing devices (charcoal, E-perm, continuous monitors).
It also works with commercial properties.
Thank you Nick and the Team for the updated contract.
I would like to submit for your consideration a few revisions to this document you gave us today.
On the first line, “agreement" has a capital “A”
Item 3. spelling error 4th line: “property”.
Item 5. fifth word “determines”
Item 8. “The report is not…” “equipment were interfered with.”
Item 11. Change “of radon gas” to “radioactivity”. It’s a technicality, but we are not measuring gas. I live 2 miles from Oak Ridge National Laboratories so many of my customers know a thing or two about uranium and its decay product, radon.
Item 16. Change “inspection” to “testing” . As stated in Item 4 and item 5, we are only testing. We are not determining the cause or proposing how to cure. We are only testing. Not inspecting.
I offer these as examples and not a complete listing of all errors that may exist in the document. But, honoring forum rules, everyone feel free to blast me for every error that I missed, and why I’m an idiot, and probably voted for the wrong candidate in the past presidential election.
JJ, you should be in the hall of fame for all the advice and experience you have shared over the years. Several of your posts helped guide my early years when I started inspections and joined Internachi. And those MEMEs you post that help me get started every morning… the best MEMEs, nobody does MEMEs like you.
Thank you Bert, but like the MOY, that will never happen for a few reasons.
Glad they help. That was my motivation for posting them, and in a few different genre’s.
I especially like them at the end of my day to compensate for certain non-professional professionals!
Have a great Christmas, and an even better New Year!!
