Oh boy. Gotta love genius flippers

The rafters are sagging, damaged by insects, have broken collar ties. I got it, let’s add some supports!!! Hooray!!!

What was declared. Was there remediation?

Old skip sheathed with planks?

Missing Perlin’s/knee wall supports.
Damaged support lumber.
Refer to a general contractor for repairs.

I noted in the report that there were Improper support installations, Damaged rafters and recommended evaluation by a contractor and pest inspection.

Looks like fire damage.

Looks like fire damage to me as well. I mean the whole thing is a crap show, but how did it smell?

There was a lingering smoke smell. Someone had recently smoked a joint. LOL

Built in 1877. I forgot to mention the age of the home.

I don’t see fire, just a lot of moisture staining over a hundred years.

That structure looks common for a home built in 1877. That’s old growth wood, very strong, but the Powder Post Beetle damage, even though it’s most likely been there for many decades, should still be called out and addressed.

I agree with Lon, No fire damage, but moisture stains that happened through the decades.
