Hi all,
Inspected this oil furnace today and found this open vent with cap sitting next to it. I suspect someone left this off by accident and that the cap needs to be installed for proper venting. Any thoughts?

Its an oil furnace. Was there a damper inside there? Ive never seen one shaped like that though.
When I first saw it I though it was going to be a barometric damper but it’s just an open junction in the ducting.
