A 1996 home with attached garage and OSB on the walls and ceiling. Was this installation proper for that time period? I know what to recommend but just wanted to learn a little history.
Attached garages were required to have fire rated drywall or similar back in that day. OSB alone would be turned down in a heartbeat, but some places don’t have strict compliance.
FlameBlock Fire-Rated OSB
Okay, you have me there!
Only recommended as an outside fire resistant barrier. I could be wrong but I have never seen any OSB accepted in a garage. If it is accepted you would need rock wool inside the wall and marked Fire Resistant according to what I have read.
Thanks Roy.
You sure your last name is not Cooke:-)
