Yes it did have a banded appearance, the cell camera exaggerates it though, it made no noise. We were anchored somewhere out in the Gulf, they were sticklers on no GPS so not sure exactly where. I caught the first fish that night at the first stop 35lb(?) amberjack on the first drop, also caught the biggest snapper, which there was a pool for  Those fish pics were taken with my camera, I may have already posted in the fish pics thread, but if I come across them again will repost. We ate good for several days and put some meat in the freezer.
Inside of a boiler storage tank we had to cut in half to remove from a building. It was fascinating the growth on the inside of this hot water tank in MA.
Shots I took of the Nederland / Cold Springs fire when I was in Colorado in July. The sun looked blood red that evening shining through the smoke. It was caused by two dumbasses out of Alabama that left their camp fire burning. They had two planes and 3-4 helicopters working it continuously, including the big Chinook in these pics.
Sometimes we are watched and sometimes we are the watchers. The first one was taken during an inspection and the second one was in an azalea bush in my front yard.
Nice!

Shot the moon today. I took my DSLR, about $2,500 worth of glass and a heavy tripod and shot a series of images with a variety of settings. Then for Yuks, I took the bridge camera that I use for work with a 60X zoom and shot handheld, fully zoomed, with the programmed “night scenery” scene mode and took two shots.
The bridge camera bested my DSLR because of the extra reach. Here’s the image from the bridge camera after post processing in Lightroom. I did convert it to black and white to mask some pretty horrendous color fringing

It’s pretty amazing what you can get out of a point and shoot these days.
Nice.

The link should open to an online panorama viewer which will allow you to pan and zoom. There’s a lot of detail on this image (153 megapixel)
