Return Air Duct

Gee. Bet the air conditioning couldn’t keep up pulling all that attic air.

Which brings up something if you folks check temperatures. Check the return air temperature at the room grille and then at the air handler. If you have more than a 3 degree temp rise there is return air duct leakage or radiant heat into the return air.

How do you check at the AHU without intrusive inspection?

Open blower door insert K type wire probe into blower compartment and close door.

Thank you. A procedure worth expounding upon.

Seems like overkill in this instance.

I think that’s one of them new-fangled air conditioners that keeps inspectors cool while checking out the attic. There were probably registers buried under the insulation…you probably just missed them.

On a serious note (yeah right), the second photo of the metalwork…does that go anywhere? It looks like it’s just sitting on top of the lumber. Did it penetrate the drywall? Please say, “yes”.

No Way…

NO :frowning:

It would have to rotate 90 degrees and fit between the bottom chords.
