I recently inspected a new asphalt shingle roof and was surprised that no mastic had been applied to underneath the new roof vent flashings. Is this now a SOP for roofing contractors or am I missing something?

Don if I saw a Roofer with a bucket of mastic on a new comp roof I would wonder what he was trying to hide. Ive seen them mastic the lower jacks under the felt on tile roofs but not on a comp roof if the jobs done right its not needed.
