Good morning-
You may know that NACHI (The National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, www.nachi.org) is the largest HI association in the world.
I live near Coeur d'Alene, ID and Spokane, WA, and am President of Idaho's 53-member NACHI Chapter (www.NachiIdaho.org).
Speaking for both myself and my fellow members, do you need anyone for any work in this region?
Also, do you pay as a sub, or an employee?
Thank you!

Russ Spriggs,
Certified Residential Inspector # 3060502

Chris, thanks for your quick response!
How about we put the cart behind the horse . . .
As I asked in my email, are there any needs for inspectors in this area, how much, how often, and are inspectors subs or employees?
Thanks again-

Russ Spriggs

Russ,

Our needs for inspectors change on a daily basis. The first step to becoming a vendor with Safeguard is to fill out the application. If you have any questions, you can call Lanine Davis (1-800-852-8306 ext. 1192), as she is the recruiter for the northwest. Thanks Russ

Chris Berthelot

OK, thanks anyway.
I was trying to help out our 53 inspectors.

Russ Spriggs

If that's how they respond to a few simple questions, I'd want no dealings with them!

I emailed Chris Berthelot this link to this thread.

He/She may have the opportunity to see how his/her company may have lost the resources of about 10,000 inspectors, worldwide.

After I had rec?d his/her last response, and posted it all here, I sent Chris the link for reviewing what I?d posted.
I then rec?d a follow-up (below), after the post was made, followed by a (very?) final one (below that).

Russ,

I would definitely advise your inspectors to complete the application, as needs in your area can arise at anytime. Currently, we do not have a need in those areas, however, we may in the next few days. In regards to your other questions, our inspectors are classified as subs. I hope this helps.

Russ,

Thank you for sending me the attachment to your message board. I read your threats, and think it is only fair for you to post our correspondences in their entirety. You willingly neglected to post all of my responses. If you read the email chain below, you will see that you failed to post all of them. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at anytime.

Russ & Co. - I looked into it awhile ago and found that they essentially wanted me to do drive by’s and stick doohangers on the doors of people who were delinquent on their mortgage.

For $5 each. Not worth the effort, IMO, but they may have new services to offer now...

I'm not sure whether or not they want to discuss the volume and type of business they have in a given area until they are sure exactly who they are talking to. I imagine the application would provide them with enough information to be able to reveal more details.

I know it sounds like the old customer service runaround, I would withhold judgement until someone on the other side of the application process has something to say.

Ok, guys here is the 411 on Safeguard Properties. They do mortgage field service inspections and pay very little. We tried to work with them last year and they paid $4.50 an inspection. They have been in the Field Service business for many years and have a huge turnover. We worked with them for about a week until we found they wanted us to drive hundreds of square miles for their $4.50 an inspection. I told them I could not afford to pay them to do thier work!

Their application asks how much you would charge them for doing an inspection. After reading your post, I can probably safely assume they will not call me and accept my offer of $350.00. Oh, well. ![icon_rolleyes.gif](upload://iqxt7ABYC2TEBomNkCmZARIrQr6.gif)

After reviewing ther application, I am afraid I would not be willing to agree to a background check (those usually include credit checks), in the absence of definitive information about the types of inspections, what is expected, and the specific terms and fees paid.

That's way too much information about me, with little to none about them.

Yes, I looked at the application too and decided no.
