I’m starting a new inspection business and am looking to purchase a camera for sewer scopes. I’ve been comparing the Scout 3 Pro with other cameras in that general price range but can’t find any reviews or videos on that specific setup. I know the sewer camera topic has been beaten to death, mainly because of how expensive they are, but a Rigid or Milwaukee is not in the budget. The $3k price point is doable so Im wondering if anyone has some experience with cameras in that price range, specifically the Scout 3 Pro on Inspector Outlet, or a comparable Vistec.
This will probably help from the search function:
@lkage …thank you
@nbeasley2 …feel free to check the link from eBay. Or give me a call if you want to talk a bit more.
I upgraded to the Milwaukee system…with some pros and cons.
I will gladly answer any questions for you
In a nutshell, you get what you pay for. Scout makes a nice camera and I bought one once and was generally pleased. The caveat being I only used it on newer (ABS/PVC) lines and it was a backup for a company I subcontracted.
All the pros that I see use Rigid or Milwaukee and they are just much more durable - larger gauge cable, heavier/tougher camera head, etc. And even those break somewhat frequently. The companies I used always had a spare set up for when there main camera was being fixed.
So, it really depends what you need/expect from it.
Larry, thanks for posting the link to Jordan’s ad. We just had a good conversation and I decided to snag it before anyone else did.
Matt, I appreciate the feedback. I’m looking forward to start using it.
