Thanks Jeff…that thread pretty much answers my question. Sorry I didn’t see it earlier.

icon_question.gif I think I see some defects here!

Was this the subpanel, or was there a main CB to the right?

The trouble with images when posted here is that the entire story is not always shown, and that often leads to inaccurate or incomplete comments and suggestions.

Now then, I am only trying to help, and I don't want to start any arguments.

I see some problems that may be questionable!

Something else I learned recently about AC condenser circuits is that the wire does not have to be sized for the breaker. It can be smaller. It can be sized for the minimum circuit ampacity of the condenser unit.

For example: The condenser requires a 40 amp breaker but the minimum circuit ampacity is 24.7 (or something like that). The wires coming off of the breaker could be 10 awg instead of 8 awg. I see this quite often and have been writing it up but just learned from more than a few people that it is actually OK.

Joe,

Thanks for taking a look. Please remember that I was only asking about the a/c circuit and not the entire panel. I would have done a better job of showing the entire arrangement if I had been asking about everything. Anyway, this inspection was of a duplex. The 2 main panels were to the left and right (the picture above is the panel on the left) of the meters. Like I indicated the 60 amp breaker in the picture goes to a subpanel inside the duplex.

Oh? OK then, thanks for the reply, sorry about that. I should not be so picky or observant wanting to help when I look at the pictures that are posted here.

I will begin to mind my own business.
