by high school i figured out if You left your books in your locker all year you really didn;t have to worry about putting covers on them…

I’m going with what Tom said, although I can honestly say I’ve never owned a car with a floor starter.
I seem to remember in my 1960 Buick, I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and it engaged the starter.
I would have been engaging the starter every time i left a light…

I believe it was my '55 GMC pickup had a floor starter.

You could probably have gotten that with an electric overdrive as well. (I had one - the overdrive)
that’s a beautiful truck !!!
This is my 55 Dodge Power Wagon, it has a button on the dash to start it. Must be an upgrade from Larry’s GMC
