Another one of Trump’s great ideas quit making pennies to save money.
According to the National Association of Convenience Stores, without the penny, cash transactions would be rounded up to the nearest nickel. That would mean the mint would have to produce more nickels and the price disparity with nickels is even worse, with each one costing 13.8 cents to produce.

That will be the reasoning to get rid of the nickel, followed by the quarter. And, eventually all change. Next will be paper money. Then everything will be electronic.
