Structual Engineer Report

This is my theory and how I would explain it to your clients.

Walls don’t move without pressure plain and simple. The wall is cracked and a slight bow is present so as you can tell the wall moved and over time could get worse and eventually buckle in and collaspe killing you or whoever may be standing by it at that time. Please take note when I say “could”. I have no crystal ball that allows me to see possible future movement. I simply can’t predict it. Who knows this wall may stand just fine for another 100 yrs. IMO the wall for safety reasons should be braced to prevent further movement. I am not a strucutural engineer nor can I claim this residence to be structurally sound. Consult with a foundation contractor on possible options to help secure the wall so it doesn’t move any further. The foundation contractor “may” consult with a structural engineer during the course of the repair.

You did your job. You indentified a concern, explained to them why it’s a concern and led them in the right direction for professional help.
