Hello! I am curious if there is a year in which thermal expansion tanks were required for water heaters by code. For reference, the water heater in question is a 2013. Also, I am based out of Florida. I know some people say its varies depending on county. I was under the impression that they’ve been required since 2008, but maybe my brain is just fried 
A thermal expansion control device (not required to be a tank) has been required since the 2001 FBC.
