From 1st post:

Rules:

*** Auction starts now and ends around 7PM MST (9PM EST) on Tuesday night.**
*** Winner will be the post with the highest bid as of roughly 7PM MST (9PM EST).**

Thank you, Larry. I did read that.
I guess my question has to be - what does “around” or “roughly” 9PM EST mean?
So if a highest bid was sent 9:10 or 9:15, would that still qualify as roughly?

Roughly speaking, I’ve seen that the interpretation is up to the awarding party. So,… :man_shrugging:

Thanks Dave.

Fair is Fair…!

.

Going with the “Roughly” criteria…
IMO, both bids are 3 minutes apart from the deadline, SO… the post that meets the Primary criteria of the deadline, (closest without going over), should be deemed the winner!!
IMO, that would be Richard Ingalis.

“Roughly” ending at 9pm creates a conflict of interest. Does NACHI honor the winning bid at the cutoff … or take the extra eleven dollars by the bid after the cutoff?

If they are going for the higher amount, they should know that I visited the thread about a minute after the last bidder and would have gone $350 until I noticed the time had already expired before the last bid. That bid from me, too, would have been “roughly” ending at 9pm.

Ambiguity can keep bidders away, IMO.

IMO that particular rule should be clarified and the word “roughly” should be removed to prevent this issue from arising in the future.

This is not the first time this issue has reared it’s ugly head.
IMO, if someone isn’t available at the necessary time to properly facilitate the process of/to the Rules, the Ending Time should be changed to when it can be, or the “Event” should be abandoned altogether!
When a person bidding needs to wait a month or longer, only to be mishandled and lose the bid by someone AFTER the deadline, this is Biden v Trump all over again!!

So does Nick or Maggie have an answer to define what “roughly” means?
My bid was before 9PM EST.
Would 9:05, 9:10 or 9:15 PM EST still be considered “roughly”?

Disagree.

Going with the posted rules, AROUND is "on both sides of” 9 pm EST.

But, I do agree it can be less confusing if it were more accurate.
