It actually was difficult to get good pics because it is so big. And there wasn’t much room around it to get back far enough. Plus people everywhere. The pics don’t do it justice.

I caught it as it passed through Owatonna, MN…

“In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, Union Pacific has restored and rolled out one of the world’s largest steam locomotives — the Big Boy No. 4014. Of the eight remaining Big Boys in existence, No. 4014 is the only one currently in operation. To celebrate the milestone year for the railway, the steam train has been on a “Great Race Across the Midwest,” which included stops in Owatonna (07/17/2019) and other southern Minnesota locations.”

Great video. We watched it depart Duluth and then we headed for home, which is about 4 hours south of Duluth. Along the way home, we passed probably about 500 people parked and set up with cameras and lawn chairs at various railroad crossings waiting for it to come by.
