You would “probably” know by pour drainage and gurgling sounds coming from your drains or fixtures. Plumbers have been known to “forget” pulling caps of the drain vents.
Run a sewer scope.
Two things cause this; sewer pipe blockage/clog or vent issues such as failed AAV valve or obstructed vent.
So when i call a plumber to have him
-check sewer pipe blockage/clog or vent issues such as failed AAV valve or obstructed vent.
-Check drain vents for blockage
-scope your lateral sewer line
Question if the sewer line or one of the water pipe is leaking or has a crack they should be able to see it with a cameara?
Typically yes, but there are variables. If the drain is running clear with no blockages, then the condition of the pipe will be visible. If there is a clog, the camera will be submersed and you can’t see anything .
What issue?
If you have money to burn call the plumber again. He’ll gladly take a second look, for a fee!
Mr Robert i do not have money to waste but they is something going on. Smell that we can not pin point so that is why I am asking about maybe the gurgling sound might have to do with it.
Like i say the plumbers here are … one put the expansion tank incorrectly. So thais is why i am try yo do my own research
You are going about it entirely wrong. You need boots on the ground. You will never find the problem by asking questions. You have neither the tools nor background to fix your own plumbing. Your original post was about sound and now you have a smell thrown in. You are lost.
You haven’t mentioned how old the house is. New, old, or remolded? Some plumbers use glue in test caps. If there is one on the main roof vent stack, you will not be able to see from the ground, and you will have to climb the roof and look.
I find vent stacks clogged with tree buds, leaves, other debris, etc…Sometimes iced over completely…Definitely worth checking.
I must be missing something ,when I listen to the tape I hear a normal toilet flushing sound,It would have been better to have a picture of the inside of the bowl than the floor to put with the sound but if everthing is going down and that sound is the only problem I wonder if there really is a problem
I agree with Jim. If it’s performing it’s intended function, run with it.
Thank you Mark for the information. It is not making the bubble sound. It is flushing no issues just sound. We have been home for a week now and we can smell it either leak behind the wall.
The house was built in 2004
This is what i told the plumber because we have pine trees behind the house and he just dismissed the idea. I think he didn’t want to climb the ladder. I want to write down things for the plumber to come check and this time will make them go up the roof take pictures.
The problem might not be the toilet. I brought the noise because that was new and we are trying to figure out the smell. The smell is coming from under the jaccuzzi but no leak.
I put 2 moisture absorber containers under the jacuzzi and both are not half full.
