Water heater power cord tied to the cold water feed

New construction. The electric water heater is in the conditioned area. As shown in the photo, the power cord is tied to the cold-water feeding line. I feel this is a safety issue. Your comments would be appreciated.

Explain your safety concerns Chunyang.

Put your feelings aside. What makes it a concern?

I see no issue. And that is not a power cord it is Liquidtight Flexible Non-metallic Conduit (LFNC).

Thank you all for the frank feedback. I think the 240v cord should be used with the right fixture (analogous to the metal ones for outdoor applications or for cooking top power cords), and attaching the 240V cable to a metal water line is also risky: possible shock from rubbing the cord? I might have overthought this. I am still learning and thanks again.

IMO you’re overthinking it but it’s fine to come here and ask the question. As I said earlier that it not a cord it is a form of flexible raceway. The distinction is important because flexible cords and flexible raceways have different code requirements.

Even if you were in an earthquake zone, it would take 2 centuries of vibration to rub through the raceway and the conductor insulation.
