Hi


A water heater that operates fine , burner flame is fine but has alot


of rust flakes like big chunks even in a pile below the pilot lite means


that its getting old or is this a big problem?

Jane, it is somewhat hard to quanitify but I normally right up a water heater with alot of rust as nearing the end of its normal life, sometimes in worst cases I just report that it needs replacement.
