Apparently you didn’t see the NO.

Since you know Carol Ross why don’t you prove it by getting the facts FROM OCILB and post them here!

Now that the thread has bypassed 100, I think I’ll jump in.
Personally, I won’t trust the opinions or advice of someone who is not invested here. If you’re not a member, I probably won’t bother listening.

Should be driven out of the industry for deceptive trade practices.

So, which is it, 2006 or 2001? In another discussion, you said 2001. the FACT is that Ohio began certifying electrical contractors in the early 1990s.

I posted a both a screenshot and a link to the City of Toledo page where it clearly spells out the fact that they have two electrical contractor licenses, one residential and one general.

I tried to help you understand the 2001 law by highlighting the parts you either didn’t see or couldn’t comprehend. That obviously didn’t help. You need to find someone who can help you read it. Keep reading it, over and over, until you understand it.

First you said there is “NOT ONE” residential contractor license in Ohio. Then, when presented with verifiable proof of one, you claim that the municipality has been breaking a state law for nearly 20 years.

Do you seriously believe that InterNACHI members are so stupid as to believe that a major municipality has been getting away with being in violation of a State law for nearly 20 years, through multiple mayors, governors, and, attorneys general?

Parks, in an earlier message, I said you are clueless. I was being too kind. You are an idiot.

Marc, If I can help fellow InterNACHI members, Ohio or anywhere else, I don’t consider it a waste of time. My concern for inspectors using building codes to defend a position is that building codes are not as cut-and-dried as many seem to think they are. People like Parks only make things worse.

In this instance, the person who posted the original question is in the Detroit area. I’ve been certified by Michigan to teach electrical codes continuing education for all three State licensed electrical trades. I’ve also done many electrical fire investigations in Detroit and the surrounding areas as well as across the entire LP. I know what is and is not permitted in Michigan with respect to NM cable. Parks is completely ignorant of our laws. He has not once cited the proper code.

Parks with his hubris and arrogance presumes to be an expert in the NEC and still got it wrong with the original question. Several InterNACHI members and non-member guests set him straight. Then he started back-peddling. He apparently doesn’t realize that once he posts something here, members can go back and see where he has contradicted himself multiple times.

Electrical Contractors are licensed under R.C. 4740.
Here is the link. Notice the eff. date:

http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4740

Ohio law doesn’t allow them to license specialty contractors. May municipalities violate Ohio law because the are clueless or just plain like where I live.

JOKER ~ DUMB ASS too!

As it should. They also have TBDBITL.

Now the State of Ohio is a leader in building safety and how it handles compliance with the building codes.
