Is it critical to mention 2/0alum. wire from overhead street, crimped to 4/0alum. dropping down to meter then feeding a 200amp main service panel breaker? My concern is 2/0alum. feeding 200amp breaker, I realize it has not been an issue for the last 50 years, but I have a hard time knowing when to draw the line on reporting more concerns than I need to. Thank you
If you are referencing the O.H. service from pole to mast, that is POCO and they aren’t regulated by the NEC.

As Larry stated ahead of the service point (where the #2/0 connect to the #4/0) is under the control of the utility company and is of no concern. Also what’s often overlooked is that the #2/0 conductors are in free air so their ampacity is actually higher than that of the #4/0’s.
