I may be a little late to the show, however, I just wanted to pass information about 61-165 SureTest Circuit Analyzer. I have been inspecting new builds and AFCI does not test with the analyzer.
I have attached an email from IDEAL.
"The 61-165 has discontinued around 5 years ago.
It will not trip AFCI breakers newer than the last 5 years at least. This was not a design flaw, but rather an issue with AFCI manufacturers altering their designs frequently in order to defeat AFCI testing tools in general.
