A/C Exposed wiring

When the fan was running my testor was reading 110 voltage. See photo.

How can you tell with a proximity style tester? Does it have a voltage readout?

It looks like he is only testing one wire, 120.

Sorry this is a fluke tester and it does not indicate what voltage. My old one did. So all I know is that there is voltage present. Sorry to send this topic down the rabbit hole. This is only about the second time I have seen this in the last 18 years.

The topic was about the AC wiring being exposed. Others took it down the “Rabbit Hole”… :wink:

No problem. I think that I have the same tester that’s why I was asking.

And deep down in the hole we learned that there is still the 110 / 220 group. :upside_down_face:

LOL! Yup the 110/220 voltage system has been obsolete for at least 50 years but for some reason we can’t get away from it. Many of the old school sparkies at work still say 110. :roll_eyes:
