? about Memberlist ?

I hope this is the right place to ask this question.

At the top of the NACHI Message Board if you click on Memberlist you get a list of all the members. You can then sort them in several ways. I have tried to sort them by location and get a messy list... Location should sort by state not by city. I would like it be able to look at the list and find all of my fellow NACHI members here in my home state without having to look through more then 10,000 listings.

Also, what is with some of the listings not having a location listed of just having a bunch of letters of symbols???

Is it possible to change the location heading to city & another called State?

Could it be possible to be able sort the list by 2 or 3 methods at the same time... like first by state, second by city, third by joined date.

Is this members list a list of just NACHI members, is it all of the NACHI member or are there non-NACHI members listed as well???

I have been thinking about doing some group marketing and this info would be good for contacting other fellow NACHI members. I am also thinking of starting a local chapter but want to know where others are so I can find a central location to have meetings before I continue with the idea.

If you are thinking of starting a chapter drop an email to Alicia Fowler
( Alicia.Fowler@nachi.org ) and she can provide you a sorted list of the state members.

Good luck!

Thanks, I just finished emailing her.

I still think it would be nice to be able to look at the list and see how close other inspectors are to each other. It could help tell me if I needed to branch out in to less densely covered areas.

I’ve asked a lot of the same questions for a lot of the same reasons and provided a lot of the same suggestions! It would be very nice to have a much better sort capability than what is there. Possibly some time in the future they will provide it? nachi_sarcasm.gif nachi_sarcasm.gif

You guys are in the wrong area. The Memberlist at the top is bulletin board members.

Try http://www.nachi.org/memberlist.htm or http://www.findaninspector.us/

Jason,

Go to “Find an Inspector” and type in your area codes, that will give you the NACHI inspectors in your area.

This will only tell me what inspectors service my area. Not what I'm looking for. I am looking for inspectors that live in my area... you know to make friends with. Not just computer friends, the old fashioned type of friends. You know the ones that you see in person when your not working and not on the computer. Real people that you interact with in person.

(The age of the computer: no one knows what other human are really like but most know what their computer looks like from 50' away.)

I service areas that can take me an 1-1/2 hours to drive to. That does not mean I would like to go to a meeting that far away... maybe once a year but not more than that.

If I want to do group marketing I would like to have everyone involved be able to benefit by the marketing. Not for the marketing to benefit them in only one city and others all areas they inspect in.

The search engine will generate a list and give you the addresses of those individuals within whatever mileage radius you plug into it. You should be able to extrapolate from that who is within driving distance.

Jason:

John Bowman is correct. The memberlist of the message board is not NACHI's membership list. It is the memberlist of those who registered to post on this message board. As of this post I am making there are 10,607 people registered to post on this message board. About 2/3rds of all who register to post on this message board are also NACHI members (overlap). 99%+of all visitors to this message board never register. Like the Rush Limbaugh show, we have a bazillion viewers and only a few call in on air.

As for sorting through NACHI's members, the 4 main NACHI member search sites each have different search tools and each sort differently:

1. http://www.nachi.org/memberlist.htm
2. http://www.FindanInspector.us
3. http://www.InspectorSEEK.com
4. http://www.InspectorLocator.com

Between them (especially the first) you can sort many different ways. NACHI is the only inspection association that lists every member for all to see and count (unlike other associations that use ambiguous geographic searches to hide their small size). Of the links above...

#1. Lists all members alphabetically and permits sorts of every which way.
#2. Sorts by market served http://www.nachi.org/tipsforzips.htm on 20 zips each member enters into his/her own http://www.nachi.org/profileintro.htm
#3. Sorts by on primary zip/postal code.
#4. Sorts by ancillary services offered http://www.nachi.org/ancillary.htm

There is also member-only http://www.nachi.org/nachi-stats which breaks down all of N. America state & province.

And then there is my favorite...delivered from NACHI's Satellite: http://www.nachi.org/nachi_north_america.htm ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

If you are forming a chapter, we can use the Inspector's Quarterly http://www.nachi.org/iqad.htm mega list of inspection interested parties (about 92,000) to advertise your first meeting http://www.nachi.org/form.htm . We at staff do this for you.

You can also use http://www.nachi.org/mass-mail.htm to reach members only. And we recently compiled a list of dang near every licensed real estate agent in N. America for our http://www.nachi.org/buyersrealtorsenewsletter.htm which we can use to invite agents to your chapter meetings when you have something that might be of interest to them.

I'd like to attend please.

I kinda like that 4,000 plus jump in the last year and a half.

A LOT different than a few years ago, when the message board consisted of the "Lonely 12". Of course, that only lasted a few days.

Erby, the difference between the numbers in http://www.nachi.org/memberlist.htm and in http://www.nachi.org/nachi-stats.htm are the invisible members…members who joined NACHI but for various reasons (Certain Canadian association big wigs, inspectors not yet open for business, ASHI big wigs who want the membership benefits, non-inspector members, etc) do not desire to be listed publicly.

Geeze Nick,

I 'knew" that http://www.nachi.org/nachi-stats.htm was there but keep forgetting about it.

I sure wish you'd just call them "unlisted" members instead of "invisible", ya know kinda like an unlisted telephone number. It's not "invisible", just unlisted.
