Has anyone ever seen the AC lines run through a chimney frame? to mean to seem like it would be a possible safety concern…
Where is the evaporator unit? Basement, attic? Many of the fireplace frames in my area are hollow for the bottom 1’ or so. It may pass below the base of the fireplace insert.

Depends on the frame. It may be mostly hollow. The only real problem I’d see is if the insulation on the linesets melted… The type of chimney matters. If it’s brick for example it will never get hot enough to do any damage at all…

It’s nothing but a facade. The flue is double walled. Armorflex is more heat resistant than wood.
Did you ever look inside one of these things (accessible from the attic in many cases).
