My info says it could be 1993 because of the H in ser#.

hate to make an estimate on age, and be THAT far off…!!!
State it’s condition, recommend servicing and let it go at that.
they were simply asking for an idea on age of the unit…sellers inherited the property & can’t seem to answer the basic questions.

Well, unless you are sure and not guessing, I agree, but simply say I don’t know rather than give them a guess. They will appreciate that honesty as well. At least the effort was there. I would do the same thing.

Date of Manufacture (2002 to Present): The manufacturing date code is the first, second and third digits of the serial number, and represented the Year and Week of manufacture. The following numbers were used to indicate the year of manufacture: 2 = 2002; 3 = 2003; 4 = 2004; 5 = 2005; 6 = 2006; 7 = 2007; 8 = 2008; 9 = 2009. NOTE: Beginning in 1987 the date of manufacture was also often (But not always) stamped on the ID Plate.
