I often advice and consult home inspectors and merchants to wait until business and volume pick up to go with Signature so this does not happen. I have actually turned business down because I can foresee low volume trouble with the account already happening. I call it preventative maintenance after 17 years doing this I can see it coming when asking initial qualifying questions to the merchant.
There is a typical ramp up period of 2 to 3 months for any business to increase its credit card usage and business in general. It makes most financial sense for established mid to large monthly volume home inspectors/merchants to go with Signature.
